May General Meeting and Speaker
Ken Robins: Fly Fishing The Catskills
Ken’s presentation will look at the famous Catskill rivers, such as the Beaverkill and Willowemoc Creek, and will also focus on the actual fishing that Ken and Lilianna had there. Ken says it will be an add on to the good Catskills presentation that Jon Schlaich gave us last year.
Besides being a director of the KWFF, Ken is also a founding member and a life member. He has been fly fishing for over 50 years from the east coast to the west coast in Canada and the U.S.. Ken has given many presentations to the KWFF over the years, but notes that his biggest contribution to the club came in 2004 when he volunteered to write the constitution for the club. On top of which, Ken has been selected by the Board of Directors to receive the 2026 KWFF Hall of Fame Award. You can read a more fulsome biography of Ken’s fly fishing exploits below under the Hall of Fame Award.

Hall of Fame Award
As noted above, Ken Robins is the recipient of the 2026 KWFF Hall of Fame Award
Ken is a founding member of the KW Fly Fishers, a life member, and is also currently a Director of the club with a special interest, among others, in promoting and managing our library. He is a member of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Freshwater Conservation Canada (formerly Trout Unlimited Canada) and the Anglers of the Ausable (Michigan).
Ken has been fly fishing for over 50 years from the east coast to the west coast in Canada and the U.S. He has given many workshops at the Canadian Fly Fishing Forum and for several fly fishing clubs including many presentations for the KWFF. He has written articles for the FFF Flyfisher magazine and the Ontario Fisherman Magazine including a three part series in the Ontario Fisherman Magazine in 1984 entitled Ontario Mayfly Hatches which remains on the best sources of information for anglers on that topic. Ken has also contributed a chapter in The Fishing Book: Sportfishing in Ontario (1990) on Brook trout and a chapter in the book Fly Fishing Canada (2001) on fly fishing for Brook Trout.
