Guest Speaker: Sheldon Seale

My Adventures in Argentina and Northern Patagonia

Sheldon will be giving us a presentation of his travels to SET Fly Fishing Lodge near St. Martin de los Andes.  The presentation is intended to both amuse and provide information for those considering a trip to Patagonia.  It is a great trip and Sheldon encourage everyone to put Patagonia on your Bucket List.

Fishing has been part of Sheldon’s life since his earliest memories and he has been fly fishing and tying flies for 40 years.  He is past president of the Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club, Ontario’s oldest fly fishing club and, at one time its largest.  Sheldon has provided fly fishing and fly tying instruction for 30 plus years and was a professional guide on the Grand River for more than 10 years.

Sheldon is the author of numerous articles on fly fishing and fly tying and has presented at many outdoor shows in Canada and the U.S.  He has been the recipient of several awards including the Jean-Guy Cote award from the Canadian Fly Fishing Museum for contributions to fly fishing and fly tying.  Currently Sheldon is the senior Club Pro at the Franklin Club in Mt. Albert, a private club with great trout fishing.

Sheldon has fished far and wide in Canada, from B.C. and the Yukon to Quebec and Labrador.  He has chased Stripers and Bluefish on the east coast and recently traveled to Patagonia for Brown and Rainbow trout.

Sheldon has lived in Mississauga for 40 years with his wife (of 50 years) where he still ties flies and builds a few rods
